How do JUVÉDERM® Fillers work?
JUVÉDERM fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilised, non-animal hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a sugar naturally produced by the body that retains moisture in the skin.
The doctor injects JUVÉDERM directly into the skin using a fine needle to correct facial imperfections, according to your treatment plan.
What should I expect during and after my treatment?
First, you’ll have a consultation with us to determine if you’re a candidate for treatment. We will discuss your medical background, including what medications you are currently taking, and discuss the risks of filler procedures. This is standard for any injectable filler treatment.
If you’re deemed a candidate, you have the option to have a topical numbing cream applied for 15 minutes before the injections. After the numbing cream is fully active, a doctor will inject the selected JUVÉDERM product into the approved treatment area. Be ready to remove your makeup before you get treated.
There is no downtime with JUVÉDERM injections. You may return to normal activities after treatment. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcoholic beverages, and extensive exposure to sun or heat during the first 24 hours. You may experience temporary redness, itching, or swelling at injection sites, which may be relieved with ice packs.
